Out on a brisk walk this evening, I was reflecting on the good conversations I had with both my children (now young adults) today. I was thinking what a great day it was as I talked to both Bob, 25 years old, and Emily, will be 20 on Sunday! They live in Seattle and I live in San Francisco. It’s been a year and a few months since I moved away and somedays I miss them both a whole helluva lot. Most days though I’m just so grateful and proud of the fact that they are doing well and figuring out their lives.
My words came back to me as I talked to Emily, updating her on my progress of my card creations. I spoke about my reticence a bit and she reminded me that “You can do anything you put your mind to!” A quote I often said to her as I tried to make her see the power she had within herself to make things happen. I was grateful for her thoughtful reminder recognizing the truth in those words. Talking to Bob about the same, he commented that “You’ve wanted to do this forever”. And I could hear how proud he was of my step by step accomplishments. How wonderful to have their support and belief in me….just as I’ve always believed in them!
It was a great day!
